EXCURSIONS
Cappella di San Chiaffredo
Following the Occitan Paths, a cool, shaded trail leads to the Chapel of San Chiaffredo, perched on a meadow plateau just 200 meters from the Roi hamlet in the municipality of San Damiano Macra. Walking among ancient woods and pristine landscapes, the route offers an experience of nature, history, and spirituality, perfect for those seeking peaceful moments and authentic glimpses of the Valle Maira.
EXCURSIONS
Pineta di Sant’Anna e Sentieri della Libertà
The woods of Sant’Anna di Roccabruna were the operational base of the 104th Garibaldi Brigade, a partisan command that fought for freedom during the Second World War. To retrace those dramatic moments in history, you can follow the Paths of Freedom, passing through the hamlets of Combetta, Grangia, Norat, and Ferre.
The Sant’Anna partisan refuge hosts an exhibition commemorating those heroic years, while the nearby gently sloping pine forest offers a peaceful oasis, where in spring and summer visitors can enjoy the coolness and fragrances of nature.
For those who love panoramic views, a short walk along the dirt road next to the restaurant leads, in just a few hundred meters, to a scenic clearing above the hamlet of Ferre, offering a breathtaking view of the mountains of Valle Maira, dominated by the majestic profiles of Monte Chersogno and Pelvo d’Elva.
